The Difference Between Classic and 30-minute Henna

Henna has been used as a natural hair dye and beauty product for centuries, and although its effectiveness certainly hasn’t changed, the variety of henna products available on the market are more diverse than ever. In general, there are two main categories of henna hair dyes: Classic Henna and 30-Minute Henna.

In this article, we compare the differences between these beauty supplements so you can decide which one is better for you! To explore a wide variety of henna hair dye colors and other organic products for health and wellness, please visit Reshma Beauty online today.

A Brief History of Henna

Henna first appeared about 9,000 years ago in Egypt during the time of the pharaohs. The temporary dye was first derived by crushing the leaves of the henna plant, from which it gets its name. The dried leaves of the henna plant were pulverized into a powder and mixed with water to create a dense paste used to dye the skin and the hair.

Thanks to the development of interconnected trade routes, henna dye — used for celebrations, traditional rituals, and aesthetic enhancement — made its way to South Asian regions that we now know as Indian and Pakistan. Despite being nearly 10 millennia old, henna is still used today around the world for its cultural and cosmetic benefits.

Classic Henna

Just like the ancient Egyptians who first cultivated it, classic henna is used as a plant-based dye for the body and hair. At Reshma Beauty, we offer an extensive assortment of classic henna products. All items in this collection are made of our original, 100% pure henna. Reshma does not use any harmful chemicals or additives in its classic henna, nor are these found in our other beauty and haircare products.

The Classic Henna Collection from Reshma Beauty features six rich and vibrant colors that you can choose from:

The Original Classic Henna has no additional coloring added to it.  All of the other henna colors receive their vibrant hues from natural fruit and vegetable extracts. Our Classic Henna Line must be soaked for several hours or overnight before use. For extra moisturizing properties, add some Reshma Henna oil. For greater concentration of natural vitamins and minerals, soak the Classic Henna in beer. It may sound strange, but because barley is rich in many essential nutrients, beer helps to stimulate and sustain hair growth.

Classic Henna should be left in hair for several hours, then washed off normally with shampoo and conditioner. I use our Henna Shampoo and Henna Conditioner because it is extra strengthening for my hair – and remember, the Henna Shampoo and Conditioner does not change the color of your hair!

30-Minute Henna

30-Minute Henna is perfect for those who don’t have the time to leave hair products in for too long. Like our classic line, this is natural henna, but it differs in that it includes active catalysts that speed up the coloration process, giving you a vibrant, deep color in a fraction of the time. Reshma Beauty’s 30-Minute Henna Collection features nine gorgeous colors to choose from:

After adding water, this henna is ready to go! But if you want to take advantage of a beauty insider secret, be sure to add a teaspoon of our deep conditioning mask as well. This moisturizing hair mask will leave your luscious locks feeling super soft and silky. If you have stubborn greys, it is recommended to keep the henna in for about an hour.
